Homes Built on a Landfill

Homes Built on a Landfill
A developer never disclosed homes were built on a remediated landfill.

The tragedy here is that a $30 report and a little due diligence may have given these homeowners some recourse.  On the bright side, folks in this neighborhood can run their gas grills indefinitely.

You’re sure about the home. What about the property?

New Leaf announces the newest feature in our list of services for our residential clients, the Neighborhood Environmental Report.  Backed by Environmental Data Resources, the innovator of the largest and most accurate database of environmental and historical land use information in the world, our customers can rest assured knowing that each report is based on information and expertise that simply does not exist anywhere else.

As your independent home inspection firm, our goal is to provide the most up-to-date and accurate information available to protect your investment and your loved ones.  With such a responsibility for service in mind, we believe you deserve the absolute best research on your existing or potential property.  Click Here To Learn More or to ORDER A REPORT please click here.

Mold Inspections & Remediation

The recent flooding and generally damp conditions these past few months have generated renewed interest in mold & indoor air quality.   We want to remind and caution anyone faced with the potential of mold damage in their home that ANY remediation or repair work should be verified by an independent 3rd party.  New Leaf provides both mold testing before and after you’ve had work done by a remediation company, and since we don’t do the actual remediation work ourselves, we can give you a completely unbiased test and easy-to-read report on the results of your contractor’s effectiveness in removing a mold problem.

Earthquakes & Well Water: Shaken, Not Stirred

Concerned about the condition of your drinking supply after an earthquake?  After Tuesday’s quake, many private well water owners have begun noticing discoloration, or turbidity, in their well water.  While not uncommon after an earthquake, any change in private water supplies should be tested to ensure that the supply remains safe to drink.  In addition, you may also want to consider turning off/bypassing any filtering systems until the turbidity issue has been addressed as sediment can quickly clog these filters.  The USGS and several other government and private organizations have published additional information on the subject of well water after an earthquake.

NLHI Is Now A Proud Member of the York County Chamber

New Leaf Home Inspection is proud to announce that we are now a member business with the York County Chamber of Commerce.

Why not hire one of those franchised national inspection companies?

As part of our company’s mission to build community involvement and investment, New Leaf is now a member of Independent We Stand, a movement of independently owned businesses across the country who are letting their communities know the importance — and the benefits — of “buying local.”

For more information on the organization or to become a member business, please click on the logo.

Buy Local Coalition

NLHI is now a member of South Central PA’s  Buy Local Coalition, a group of local companies dedicated to supporting business within the community.  At New Leaf Home Inspection, we recognize the value and unique qualities of our community.  And as a small business in your neighborhood, we want to do everything we can to make our community better.  According to the Buy Local Coalition, $45 of every $100 spent with a local business stays here in the community.  In contrast, $13 of every $100 spent remains in the community with chain or national companies.  As a member of the Buy Local Coalition, we are committed to using local vendors as often as possible and encourage other businesses and individuals in the community to do the same.   We’re no national home inspection franchise; we’re committed to community.

Even more convenience for our customers!

New Leaf takes another step toward customer convenience by introducing the Square Up system as a payment option.  In addition to online invoicing and bill pay, customers can now pay for our services with a credit card at the time of the inspection or test using the Square Up system.  Interested in checking it out?  Click here for a link to Square Up.
